DESCRIPTION:FFB will be providing members an opportunity for a meet and greet with Finnish composer\, John Storgards\, and violinist Pekka Kuusisto following a concert at Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) on Thursday\, February 29 at 7:30 pm. The Music of the Midnight Sun series\, features Pekka Kuusisto’s debut solo performance with the BSO. John Storgards will be conducting. The orchestra will be playing pieces by Tarkiainen\, Nielsen  and Sibelius. \nPurchasing via FFB will place you with the Finlandia Foundation member group for the concert and meet and greet to follow. Ursin is known for her angelic and strong voice and exceptional skill set\, ranging from top-class performances to writing music. Her recordings and singing performances are in a variety of styles include pop\, jazz\, dance\, a cappella\, and children’s music. She has captivated audiences around the world as a vocal soloist at prestigious venues with acclaimed artists such as trumpeter Leroy Jones and Spirit of New Orleans\, Vocal Ensembles Club for Five\, and UMO Jazz Orchestra. Eeppi Ursin also collaborates with renowned theatres and modern opera ensembles as a composer and arranger. \nEeppi Ursin was chosen as Performer of the Year by Finlandia Foundation National. In 2014 she was selected as the soloist for the President’s Independence Day Reception in Finland.
