SUMMARY:"Sirkka" the inspiring life of an activist\, actor\, patriot\, feminist - a documentary
DESCRIPTION:Finlandia Foundation – Boston Chapter will stream this wonderful documentary on Sunday\, November 22\, 2020 at 3 pm via Zoom. \nTo register send an email to finlandiaboston@gmail.com \nSynopsis: \nIn 2019 the Finnish American Heritage Center partnered with Finnish-American documentarian Kristin Ojaniemi of Paynesville\, Michigan to create a documentary entitled “Sirkka: Past & Present\,” which celebrated the life-time works of Sirkka Tuomi Holms of Francestown\, NH – social activist\, actor\, patriot and feminist. The film was premiered at Sirkka’s 99th birthday – 15 August 2019 in Francestown. \nSirkka passed away on Tuesday\, October 27th\, 2020. She was 100 years and two months\, and was alert right to the end. She even voted the day before she died. Even if you feel exhausted after the recent Presidential election\, you will find it fascinating how Sirkka’s family was part of the voting process. Sirkka’s life was not easy\, but her attitude was remarkably positive\, her giggles will make you smile.
